On 18 of July the AthenShibari team is happy to welcome Seattle Shibari for the first time in Greece!
The presenter will do 3 semi-private classes. The program will be intermediate to advanced level would be the following:
~CLASS #1: Teppō Shibari for Floorwork & Suspension
16:00 to 18:00
Level: intermediate to advanced
Description:
The Teppō Shibari ('Rifle Tie') is a rigorous and beautiful rope bondage technique suitable for both floorwork and suspension. Come learn how to tie it with confidence!
In this two-hour workshop, we'll take a detailed look at Teppō Shibari, focusing on various arm positions, precise rope placement and tension, & several types of frictions. We'll also examine anatomy & safety issues associated with this tie, and learn tips & tricks for tying fluidly & with connection. We'll take a look at some of the possibilities around 'using up' the remaining rope in decorative ways (kazari). Then, we’ll learn to do a beautiful full suspension with this tie.
Prerequisite:
This workshop is definitely appropriate for all genders, sexual orientations, and body types.
Tops and Bottoms should both have good communication skills and awareness of nerve issues.
If doing suspension in this workshop, both Tops & Bottoms should have previous experience with suspension.
Tops should be able to confidently tie a two-rope Gote Shibari with good tension and rope placement.
NOTE: you are not required to do suspension to do this class! Students who are already safely practicing suspension will be cleared by the instructor and invited to practice Partial & Full Suspension with these ties, if they wish to.
Students who have not yet learned suspension can practice the ties on the floor.
Clothing & Equipment:
Please bring (3-4) 8 meter pieces of bondage rope, 5-6mm in diameter, and a blanket or yoga mat to sit & tie on. You should wear clothing comfortable to tie in.
For Suspension (and you must be previously cleared by the instructor to do suspension in this workshop): 8-10 full length ropes + carabiners.

The Tengu Shibari ('Goblin Tie') is hot, evocative rope bondage technique suitable for both floorwork and suspension. Come learn how to tie it beautifully and with confidence!
In this two-hour class, we'll take a detailed look at Tengu Shibari, focusing on various arm positions, precise rope placement and tension, & several types of frictions. ~Class #3: Ippon-Nawa
Rope & Flow: an Introduction to the Art of Shibari and Ippon-Nawa (Tying with a Single Rope)

Description:
Shibari (Japanese-style Rope Bondage) is famous for elaborate and beautiful ties, but what really makes Shibari special is its power for communication, intimacy and emotion between two people—with just a single piece of rope. Come explore this with us!
In this two-hour class, we'll study:
Basic knots and ties for restraining your partner safely and securely
Ippon-Nawa (rope play using only a single piece of rope)-Skills for Tying Your Partner Fluidly & Smoothly
We'll also learn anatomy & safety issues associated with rope bondage, and discuss the important issues of consent & negotiation.
Prerequisite: None. This workshop is appropriate for both beginners who want to learn fundamental skills, and also more advanced students who want to learn skills for tying fluidly with connection to their partner.
This workshop is appropriate for all genders, sexual orientations, and body types. Class size will be limited to 8 duos/couples.
Please bring: (2) 8 meter lengths of 6mm rope. Hemp or Jute will work best. Please wear clothing suitable for tying and being tied in. No nudity, please. A yoga mat or towel will also be nice for sitting on the floor.
Cost is 40 euros for one class, 70 euros for two classes or 90 euro for all three classes.
This cost is per couple.
Single participants can be paired in advanced after communication, or be paired up in the workshop.

Jonathan (Seattle Shibari) began his rope journey in the early 1990s with the study of classical Hojojutsu/Torinawa 捕縄術in traditional Japanese martial arts 古流武芸.
In 2012 he began learning Shibari/Kinbaku, and since 2015 he travels to Tokyo annually to study directly under Naka Akira-sensei and Kinoko Hajime-sensei.
Jonathan loves rope for the deep connection & communication it makes possible between two people, and for the intense ‘beauty of suffering.’ He teaches, ties for photoshoots, and performs internationally. SeattleShibari.com
